And I’m really glad you’re here.

A few years ago, I hit a wall.
I was a wife, a mom of two, working part-time and trying to keep everything together — the school lunches, the grocery lists, the marriage that needed more of my attention than I had left to give. I was doing everything right, at least on paper. Showing up to church on Sundays. Saying my prayers. Reading the occasional devotional when I remembered.
But I felt empty. Disconnected. Like faith was something I was performing rather than actually living.
One morning, I woke up at 5 a.m. — not by choice, just one of those nights where sleep stops cooperating — and I sat in the kitchen in the dark with my coffee and my Bible. No plan. No devotional to follow. Just me and the pages.
I opened to Psalm 46:10. “Be still, and know that I am God.”
I’d read that verse a hundred times. But that morning it landed differently. It wasn’t a command to be calm. It felt like an invitation to stop pretending I had it all together — and just sit with the One who does.
That quiet morning changed something in me. Not dramatically. Not overnight. But slowly, steadily, I started showing up to Scripture differently. Not to check a box. Not to feel guilty about skipping. But to actually look for what God had to say about the exact things I was carrying.
And I found that the Bible had something to say about all of it.
Fear. Exhaustion. Loneliness. The hard conversations. The decisions I didn’t know how to make. The days I felt completely invisible.
Scripture was speaking directly into my real life — I just had to slow down enough to hear it.
I started this blog because I couldn’t find what I was looking for.
I didn’t need another devotional that felt like a pep talk. I didn’t need spiritual content that glossed over the hard parts of real life. I needed something that met me where I actually was — overwhelmed, imperfect, and genuinely trying.
Faith Haven Journal is what I built for myself, and for women like me.
It’s a place where Scripture connects to real life. Where we look honestly at what the Bible actually says about fear, grief, burnout, difficult relationships, and everyday seasons of doubt — and where we build small, steady faith habits that don’t require you to have everything figured out.
No pressure. No performance. Just grounded, practical faith — one day at a time.
“Small, steady faith is still faith.”
Faith Haven Journal is for Christian women who want practical, Scripture-based resources for everyday life. Here’s what I create:
Everything here is designed to be simple, structured, and actually useful — because your faith life shouldn’t feel like another thing on your to-do list.
I live in Tennessee with my husband and our two kids, who are somehow both in school now, which still surprises me every single morning.
I’m a non-denominational Christian. I grew up going to a Baptist church, drifted a bit in my twenties, and found my way back to faith through the kind of slow, quiet work that doesn’t make for dramatic testimony — but felt deeply real.
I’m not a pastor, a theologian, or a Bible scholar. I’m a woman who loves Scripture and has found, over and over again, that God’s Word has something honest and useful to say about the things we’re all going through.
I care deeply about accuracy. Everything I share here is grounded in Scripture. I’m not here to tell you what to believe — I’m here to help you open the Bible and find it for yourself.
Welcome. I’m so glad you found this corner of the internet.
